The adoption of microservices architecture has revolutionized software development, particularly for Java-based applications. This paper explores various design patterns that enhance the efficiency, scalability, maintainability, and resilience of microservices. It examines essential patterns such as API Gateway, Service Discovery, Circuit Breaker, Saga, and Event-Driven Architecture. A literature review highlights the evolution and significance of these patterns. The methodology section discusses their practical implementation in Java using frameworks like Spring Boot and Spring Cloud. Through empirical evaluation, we assess how these patterns improve application performance and fault tolerance. The results indicate that applying the appropriate patterns significantly enhances the development and operational efficiency of microservices-based Java applications.
