Plagiarism Policy

The Journal of Intelligent Internet of Things Systems (JIITS) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and ethical publishing. All submitted manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and free from any form of plagiarism.

1. Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to:

  • Copying text, ideas, data, or results from other sources without proper citation
  • Presenting another author’s work as one’s own
  • Self-plagiarism (reusing one’s previously published work without proper acknowledgment)
  • Improper paraphrasing or mosaic plagiarism
  • Unauthorized use of figures, tables, or images

2. Originality Requirement

Authors must ensure that:

  • The manuscript is entirely original and has not been published elsewhere
  • All sources are properly cited using standard referencing styles
  • Any reused content is clearly acknowledged with appropriate permissions

3. Plagiarism Screening

  • All submitted manuscripts are subjected to plagiarism detection using reliable software tools such as Turnitin, iThenticate, or equivalent systems.
  • The journal generally expects a similarity index below 15%, excluding references, quotations, and common phrases.
  • Individual source similarity should typically not exceed acceptable limits (e.g., 3–5%).

4. Handling of Plagiarism Cases

4.1 Before Publication

  • Manuscripts with minor similarity issues may be returned to authors for revision.
  • Manuscripts with significant plagiarism will be rejected immediately.

4.2 After Publication

If plagiarism is detected after publication:

  • The article may be retracted or withdrawn
  • A formal notice of retraction will be issued
  • Authors may be blacklisted from future submissions
  • The author’s affiliated institution may be notified if necessary
