Abstract

This study focuses on the pilot-scale validation of algae-based biofuel production systems, emphasizing the feasibility of scaling up laboratory results to real-world applications. It explores cultivation methods, harvesting techniques, and lipid extraction processes. Experimental results reveal promising yield efficiencies and cost reductions compared to fossil fuels. However, the study identifies challenges such as energy demands, nutrient recycling, and environmental impacts. The findings highlight the potential for algae-based biofuels to become a sustainable alternative, provided technical and economic hurdles are addressed.
