Abstract

Microalgae are emerging as sustainable feedstocks for fermentation processes due to their high nutrient content and diverse biochemical composition. This study evaluates the impact of different microalgae species on fermentation yields, focusing on species such as Spirulina platensis, Chlorella vulgaris, and Nannochloropsis oculata. Additionally, the role of media sterilization in optimizing yields was assessed. Results demonstrate that microalgae species significantly influence fermentation efficiency, with Spirulina platensis yielding the highest bio-product output. Sterilization was found to enhance yield consistency by mitigating microbial contamination. These findings underscore the potential of tailored microalgae species selection and sterilization protocols to improve fermentation efficacy.
